Persian War

Write the script for a skit exploring the Persian Wars from the Persian point-of-view.

Scene 1

General: Men, Aristagoras has enlisted help in the Athenians to plot against us.

Lieutenant 1: What must we do General?

General: We must conquer all of Greece before they become a threat to us.

Lieutenant 2: How must we do this, General?

General: We must travel up the coast of Greece, conquering the cities one by one. Since Aristagoras enlisted the help of the Athenians we will conquer them last, so they will have no one to help them fight.

Lieutenant 1: We will round up all of the troops and start this conquest immediately.

Scene 2

General: Good work so far, men. We have conquered most of Greece.

Lieutenant 1: We defeated the Spartans, now onto Athens!

Lieutenant 2: Yes, they will now know how powerful we are!

General: Now, men, suit up and get ready for battle.

Scene 3

General: There is no one here! Burn the coward’s city!

Lieutenant 1: Yes sir!

Lieutenant 2: Let’s hurry so we can celebrate!

Scene 4

Lieutenant 1: Those Athenians are cowards!

Lieutenant 2: Yes, they completely forfeited!

General: I have just received word from the Athenians; they are on an island not far from here and want us to come and fight. Suit up men; we will win this once and for all.

Scene 5

General: They’ve defeated us!

Lieutenant 1: They have won.

General: We have been defeated. We must stay in Persia.
